Colin Fowlie with Black Suit Devil & Rory Taillon

The 5th Annual Living Roots festival ends with a special Sunday matinee performance featuring festival favorites Colin Fowlie, Black Suit Devil, and Rory Taillon, playing together on one stage in what is sure to be an unforgettable performance!

Critically acclaimed Canadian recording artist and versatile singer-songwriter Colin Fowlie has arrived on the scene bringing with him a storied past, unique and compelling compositions in song, and charismatic vocal stylings. He is turning heads with his debut full-length album Party Music.

The unique character of his songs fuse elements of folk, rock, blues and Americana/Canadiana into a special blend of universally themed storytelling that, along with his down-to-earth personality, create magic that audiences adore.

With his tongue-in-cheek stage name meant to pique the curiosity, singer-songwriter Andy Du Rego aka Black Suit Devil has been touring Canada since 2015 with an eclectic mix of sounds ranging from Folk, Blues,70s Rock n’ Roll, New Orleans Big Band to soulful Ballads and upbeat Bluegrass. A Matter of Time, his second full length studio record has gained him high reviews from Spill Magazine, Canadian Beats and Great Dark Wonder.

Ottawa-based singer-songwriter Rory Taillon is a road warrior, touring across the country and back again. He has the soul of the East coast but the sound of the West in his songs. His latest album, Only Whispers, is the work of a one-man Wintersleep, a one-man Tea Party, a one-man Blackie & the Rodeo Kings, with a voice to match the majesty of the Rockies.

Rory Taillon is a classically trained singer, a multi-instrumentalist and vocally can turn his hand to a variety of genres. When he sings, everything stops, and when it starts again, it’s all changed. It’s just that simple, like folk.

Leading off the show is a special set of performers from the extracurricular music programs at Royal Road Elementary and Nashwaaksis Middle School. The full bands from each school, the NMS guitar club, and the NMS string ensemble will all share their special talents as the Living Roots Festival’s youngest performers!

All proceeds from the show support the school music programs for these two schools.
