The Walrus Talks We Desire a Better Country national tour marks the 150th anniversary of Canadian confederation, and was chosen as one of Canada’s 150 Signature Initiatives. The tour, hosted by the charitable, non-profit Walrus Foundation, will go to each province and territory in the spring of 2017, and was created in partnership with the Order of Canada to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary. Each of the thirteen events on this tour will feature four members of the Order of Canada and four youth leaders speaking for seven minutes each on our theme, inspired by the order’s motto: We Desire a Better Country. We are excited to bring these impressive, diverse voices to unique venues from coast to coast to coast, and to all Canadians through a broadcast partnership with CBC and CPAC.
