Maritime funny gal Nikki Payne is returning to the Fredericton Playhouse with her unique and politically challenging brand of humour. Known for incorporating her trademark lisp and ‘nothing is off limits’ attitude into her routine, anyone who has witnessed one of Nikki’s performances will agree it might take days to recuperate from all the laughter.

Nikki has perfected her innocent/bad girl image, and has become one of our country’s more recognizable comics. A semi-finalist on Last Comic Standing, Nikki has also appeared on Comedy Now! and MuchMusic’s Video on Trial, and can frequently be heard on CBC Radio’s The Debaters. She has performed throughout North America, was named Canadian Comedy Person of the Year in 2012, and has won three Canadian Comedy Awards and a Canadian Screen Award.

Although the delivery may change through the years – sometimes naughty, sometimes self-deprecating – Nikki’s unpredictable unrestrained humour has remained both entertaining and refreshingly real.

As a special bonus, local comedian Jeff Irwin will open the show with his down home  East Coast humour. Jeff’s style is a mixture of jokes and stories using various accents and characters, and his impeccable timing has earned him rave reviews. He has traveled across Canada and much of the eastern United States performing for conventions and private functions, but loves being in front of a hometown crowd.

Please be advised this performance contains strong language, mature subject matter and is intended for mature audiences.
